Join us in the MERL garden for an enchanting family event celebrating the season of Spring and the wonderful changes it brings. Dig out or create a costume to wear that symbolises Spring or perhaps a magical creature from the garden!

Sessions are suitable for families with children aged 3 – 11* and will include:

• Storytime
• Making willow crowns and wands
• Follow the woodland botanical trail
• Music mash, with homemade instruments using recycled materials
• Outdoor water play
• And much more!

* some activities will be more suitable for younger or older children.

Choose from a 1.5 hour session at 10:30am – 12pm (NOW FULLY BOOKED) or 12:30pm – 2pm (second session is a repeat of the first). Please book preferred session.

£4 per participating child, adults free

All children must be accompanied by an adult and we encourage parents/carers to assist with all activities.
As some of the activities are outdoors, please ensure you dress for the weather. Picnics are welcome!

PARKING INFORMATION

If you require parking for this event, you will need a special parking permit (valid from 9am – 3pm on 28 May only).  We suggest that if the MERL carpark is full, you go straight to White Gates carpark on the London Road campus, located off Crown Place, where additional parking is available.

You can collect a permit from reception at the Museum which will need to be displayed in all University car parks.

If you do not display a permit, you may be issued with a penalty. We apologise for any inconvenience, but this solution means we can continue to offer free parking in the nearby University car parks. If you have any questions, please call 0118 378 8660 or email merlevents@reading.ac.uk

Parking is limited at the museum and although we do our best to help those who need to come by car find a space, we would always encourage you to use alternative means of transport where possible. See our Getting Here page for details.
