APRIL SESSION CANCELLED: MONTHLY CODE CLUB
New monthly Code Club sessions for 8-13 year olds
New, free MERL monthly Code Club sessions
Children will learn programming languages such as Scratch and Python to create games, animations and websites in engaging and motivational sessions by trained, DBS-checked volunteers and museum staff. We will supply all the technology needed for the session. All the children need is curiosity and imagination!
Drop your kids off with us for our monthly Code Club, for children aged 8+! Each month we’ll be working on a different project where they can have a go at creating games, animations and websites in exciting session run by our team of Code Club volunteers.
Code Club at The MERL is a monthly event and is always on a Saturday afternoon. You can attend one session or as many as you like, but you’ll need to book each one separately. Tickets are free and will be released on Eventbrite a couple of weeks before each month’s event. As Code Club is very popular, please let us know if you can no longer attend so we can pass your ticket onto someone on the waiting list!
Once you’ve booked, a member of our team will be in contact with a consent form, which we kindly ask that you complete and return at least 24 hours before the workshop. On the day please come to the welcome desk just before 1:30pm and you’ll be directed to The Studio. We’ll provide all the equipment needed.
Parents and siblings are welcome to stay to explore the museum, enjoy one of our gallery trails or relax in the café whilst they wait.
