Explore the story of cheese through The MERL’s archive and objects with collections specialists, and share a sociable evening discovering some delicious local cheeses and accompaniments, including a carefully paired drinks, all guided by the delightful Angela Brown, our Retail Supervisor and resident cheese expert!

After an introduction to the MERL’s cheese-related objects from curator Dr Ollie Douglas, and chance to browse a pop-up display of cheesy archive and library collections, Angela Brown will talk you through a selection of cheese*, accompaniment and drinks pairings, and share fascinating information about each cheese.

For the tasting, guests will be seated on tables of up to six, so whether you come in a group or as an individual, this will be a wonderfully sociable celebration of cheese!

Attendees must be aged 18+

*Cheeses will be vegetarian but not vegan
