Collection procedure for The MERL Click and Collect and Call and Collect services
When to collect your order
After you place your order, you will be able to collect your order from 12pm on the next working day that the Museum reception is open, e.g. Tuesday to Friday, 9am to 5pm. For example, if you place your order on a Friday, the first time you can collect is 12pm the following Tuesday.
For call and collect, you can call the Museum to make a purchase from Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm. However, please note that during this current period of lockdown, you may only collect your order from Tuesday to Friday, as above.
Please do not come to the Museum if you are experience any symptoms of COVID-19. We will keep your order until you are able to collect it.
Where to collect your order
Please collect your order from the main entrance at The Museum of English Rural Life, which is located at 6 Redlands Road in Reading. The postcode is RG1 5EX. For details of how to find us, visit our ‘Getting here’ page.
Parking is available in our carpark at the front of the museum.
How to collect your order
Please come through the gates and wait in the courtyard. Have a copy of your order confirmation ready to show our staff, either on your phone or printed out. They will come out to meet you, pass your pre-prepared order to you and record that you have collected your order. You should not need to enter the building.
