VISIT THE MERL FOR FUN ACTIVITIES AND MORE!

This Summer, enjoy trails, activities, crafts at The Museum of English Rural Life!

  • Discover our Summer Family Activity Packs for all ages (from £2 per pack) 
  • Have a go at a variety of gallery and garden trails including our woodland brass rubbing trail 
  • Free make-and-take and other hands-on activities (donations welcome) 
  • Try out our indoor Farming Cycle brass rubbing (subject to room availability) 
  • Have fun on the fabulous wooden play-on tractor and wagon 
  • Book a ticket for our Miller’s Ark event for all on 23rd August (12:30pm – 4:00pm)
  • Book a space on our Miller’s Ark, My Way event for neurodivergent visitors of all ages on 23rd August (10:00am – 11:30am)
  • Book a place on our Museums, My Way session on 2nd September

REFRESHMENTS

Enjoy a selection of hot and cold drinks, cakes, sandwiches and snacks from our cafe.

You are welcome to bring a picnic to enjoy in the garden. Picnic benches are available or bring a picnic mat and sit on the lovely, big lawn!

PARKING

Please note that the museum’s car park can fill up quickly at busy times. Parking is also available in the University car park on Acacia Road, adjacent to the museum. Please collect a permit from reception on arrival.
