THE MERL FAMILY EVENT: AWESOME APPLES

About this event

CELEBRATE THE AUTUMN HARVEST AND HAVE FUN WITH APPLE-THEMED ACTIVITIES AND CRAFTS IN THE MERL GARDEN

Sessions are suitable for families with children aged 3 – 11* and will include:

  • Story corner
  • Crafts: make apple creatures, apple printing onto apple shaped paper.
  • Apple bobbing
  • Press your own apples (please bring some with you along with a clean container if you wish to take some juice home)
  • Apple trail
  • Taste apples with Tolhurst Organics
  • Apple rolling
  • Apple and spoon race
  • Apple tasting
  • Outdoor play (for under-7s, similar to the MERL’s Friday Fledglings)

* some activities will be more suitable for younger or older children.

Please note: it would be helpful if you could bring along approximately 5 apples from your garden at home, if you happen to have spare, for use in the activities. Please also bring along a clean container if you would like to take pressed juice home with you. Thank you.

Choose from a 1.5 hour session at 10:30am – 12pm or 12:30pm – 2pm (second session is a repeat of the first). Please book preferred session.

£3 per participating child, Adults free

All children must be accompanied by an adult and we encourage parents/carers to assist with all activities.
As some of the activities are outdoors, please ensure you dress for the weather. Picnics are welcome!
