About this event

Embrace the power of presence, even in absence

Museums tell many stories through their collections. What it is unclear is how many are absent.

The MERL is hosting ‘Absent Tales’, a temporary exhibition inspired by the museum and its collection. In this show, MA students from the University of Reading School of Art have used the theme of ‘absence’ as a starting point. They have produced artworks across a range of media, asking: it possible to rediscover what is missing and make it present?

You will find the exhibition on the mezzanine level (Digging Deeper gallery) which is accessible via the stairs from the Welcome Area or Model Farming gallery. A lift is available in the Forces for Change gallery.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
