To coincide with the Staircase Hall display of illustrated editions of Oscar Wilde’s ‘The Ballad of Reading Gaol’, the collector Michael Seeney will talk about building a collection on Oscar Wilde. Some of Michael’s books will be on display as part of the exhibition, but his collection also extends to anything related to Wilde, from letters and autograph material to mugs and t-shirts. As well as his own collection, Michael will also look at important collectors of the past and what has become of their collections, and the role of private collectors in academic research.

Late Opening Night

This event takes place during our monthly Late Opening Night, so the museum, shop, cafe, garden and reading room are all open until 9pm.
