Join us for these special Steel Band and Carnival dance workshops for families and young people![/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]

Steel Band workshop

11am  – Family workshop for children aged 5+ accompanied by an adult
BOOK FAMILY BAND WORKSHOP

12pm – Workshop for young people aged 11 – 18 only (no accompanying adult required)
BOOK YOUTH BAND WORKSHOP

Explore your music creativity and become part of a steel band in this fun and interactive workshop led by CultureMix Arts. During the session you will learn about the history of steel pan, playing techniques and will be taught how to play a simple song together. The 1 hour taster workshop is led by musicians from award winning steel orchestra Reading All Steel Percussion Orchestra (RASPO), whose name commemorates Trinidad All Steel Percussion Orchestra (TASPO), the very first steel band to play in the UK at the 1951 Festival of Britain.[/vc_column_text][vc_video link=”https://youtu.be/su2JrJNQdaE” align=”center”][/vc_column][/vc_row]

Experience the freedom of dance and get into the spirit of carnival by joining this dance class with CultureMix Arts. Bring your colourful flag, a water bottle and get ready to practice some unique carnival dance moves to Caribbean music including soca and calypso. This class is a combination of music (sound), movement and mindfulness, creating fun for families and young people.
