FAQs
Is this event free?
Yes! Our thanks to the support of our funders and partners for making this possible.
Can I come without a ticket?
A small number of tickets will be available on the door. If you’re coming without a ticket, we strongly recommend arriving as early as possible to avoid disappointment. Once we reach capacity, we will operate a one-in, one-out policy, so please anticipate queues and wait times during peak hours.
Does the museum have parking?
A limited number of parking spaces will be available at the museum and at the nearby University of Reading car park (Acacia Road) on a first-come, first-served basis. We strongly recommend using public transport or local town-centre car parks. Find out more about planning your journey.
Is food and drink available?
Sandwiches, cakes, and hot and cold drinks will be available throughout the day in the museum café. And you’re very welcome to bring a picnic to enjoy in the garden.
Can I bring my dog?
Unfortunately pets are not permitted across our site. We welcome suitably trained assistance and support dogs, which must be under your control during your visit. Ideally, they should remain on a lead or within a carrier and wear a relevant tabard or harness.
