Conversations with a Curator: Steve Marshall

About this event

Join us for our latest season of exciting free online talks, where you’ll get the chance to dive deep into the world of art with our expert curators, conservators and scholars. Discover the stories behind the artworks in the University of Reading Art Collection, learn about the creative process, and pose any questions.

This month we will be joined by Steve Marshall, Exhibitions Curator at St Barbe Museum and Art Gallery and Co-curator of the recent exhibition ‘The Life of the Fields’ (until 10 January 2026). Steve will share his insights into the work of artists who took an interest in farming and farmed landscapes, beginning with Edward Bawden (1903-1989), whose print from the University of Reading Art Collection was featured in this exhibition.

Grab a glass of wine or a cup of tea, and don’t miss this unique opportunity to get a closer look at the art world from the comfort of your own home. See you there!
