Object Exploration session in the Learning Studio

Have a closer look at museums objects linked to the theme of recycling and repurposing

Come and explore and learn more about our fascinating museum objects up close through a range of creative tasks. This session is suitable for families with children aged 5+ only.

Please do touch! Not a phrase you often associate with museums but in our 30 minute object exploration sessions, you can do exactly that! This is a chance for you to get up close and personal with some of the objects in The MERL collection. For this half term, our objects all connect with our ‘Our Green Stories’ theme and we will be thinking about the idea of ‘reduce, reuse, recycle! As part of the session, you will be trained in safe object handling, learn the stories behind some of our more mysterious collections and think about how the objects of the past connect with our lives today.

Book one of the following 30 minute timeslots:

10.30 – 11.00am
11.15 – 11.45am
12.00 – 12.30pm
1.30 – 2.00pm
