Museums On Wheels

Our rolling programme, Museums on Wheels, takes The MERL and Reading Museum on the road to events across Reading’s communities. Made possible thanks to the Museums Partnership Reading funding from Arts Council England, Museums on Wheels brings the museums to you in a collection-sharing roadshow, offering hands-on opportunities and activities. The content of Museums on Wheels is adapted to connect with the events, offering sometimes surprising and inspiring insights into our collections and community connections.

Courage Craft

Join Museums Partnership Reading at Reading Libraries to celebrate the upcoming national Refugee Week theme of Courage. The word courage comes from the Latin cor, meaning “heart.” Craft your origami heart with messages of courage. Discover objects from our collections, and find out about the history of the Maiwand Lion in Forbury Gardens, another symbol of courage.
