Philip Arthur Hicks (1921 – 2017) studied architecture at the Architectural Association, and landscape architecture at King’s College, Newcastle (then a part of Durham University). He became an Associate of the Royal Institute of British Architects in 1952, and a Fellow in 1969. He practiced in London, Scotland and Canada, and wrote extensively on gardening and the arts. His notable projects included the Water Gardens in Edgeware Road, which received Grade II listed status in 2020. 

This collection includes drawings for several of Hicks’ projects, in addition to some of his correspondence and published articles.
