Prices for photographs, illustrations and engineering drawings depend on size and format.
Archive and library material
High resolution scans supplied on CD or online transfer: first image/page is £15 and subsequent images/pages are £7.50 each.
Alternatively, high quality plain paper copies can be provided at a cheaper rate: first image/page is £7.50 and subsequent images/pages are £5 each.
These are printed on photo quality paper. Orders can take a few weeks. Urgent orders are charged at double the standard rate.

There is a minimum postage and handling fee of £3.50 for UK orders. Overseas rates available on request.
We can provide copies of engineering drawings either folded or rolled at the following sizes and prices:
£30 per drawing if required at scale. Postage within the UK is free. Overseas rates are available on request.
Please note that we can only provide paper copies of engineering drawings. Orders can take around 2 weeks to process.
If image quality is less important, you can also get photocopies and low resolution scans of some items via our reading room and enquiry service.

There is a minimum order charge for remote photocopying orders of £5. Postage and handling is £3.50 minimum within the UK. Overseas rates are available on request.
Sometimes the condition and size of an item means that we cannot photocopy it. In these instances we would have to provide high resolution copies at the rates listed above.
Digital photography in the reading room
We allow researchers to photograph items in the reading room for personal research purposes.
This is charged at a daily or weekly rate under the following categories:
UoR staff/academic: £5/£12.50
Photography must be with a handheld, non-flash device and is subject to a copyright a data protection form. We do not permit tripods or stands.
We do not permit photography of original photographic material (such as photographic prints, negatives and slides) or engineering drawings. Some collections have copying restrictions and a member of staff will advise on this if it is the case.

Digital image supply
Publication quality images are supplied when you obtain a licence to use our content, with prices ranging from £18.50.
We are happy to quote competitive rates for bulk digitisation-on-demand, and our academic use package now includes reproduction rights. You can also order basic scans of some items via our reading room and enquiry service.
