The Outdoor Schoolroom

Children have the opportunity to explore a range of herbs and plants in the Museum of English Rural Life’s fabulous garden. Through activities such as story-telling, role-play, and craft and science activities, children will understand the properties and uses of plants in our idyllic garden in urban Reading.

Overview:

  • Introduces students to the different common wild and garden plants found in the garden at the museum. 
  • Offers students hands on learning opportunities and different ways of recording their learning (oral work, art work, annotated photography etc) to share with others.
